This was Daniel Romero’s daily habitual as he prepared to voice track for his various internet radio shows, till this day when he sits down to record his weekly podcast, or has to speak live during his morning show. Born in 1993 in Paterson, New Jersey, it took a local celebrity to him, and a toy FM microphone to begin his long-lived dream of being an on-air personality. After years with a major successful internet radio show of his own, he has hosted one of the biggest internet top 40 radio stations in the country, and before that, he was hosting three other internet radio shows that garnered much success. From a young age, Daniel has been traveling on his own from state to state. Starting at fourteen, he took his first flight alone to Kentucky, with proceeding years including Tennessee, Virginia, Maryland, California, Florida, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island to name a few.
Daniel also moved and lived on his own in Denver, Colorado for a year and five months. The point; was not only to prove to his family and friends, but to himself that a blind person is just as capable of doing anything a sighted person could. His experiences go as far as being on one of the biggest morning shows in the country as a guest, and work for the legendary singer/musician/actor Marc Anthony in the heart of New York City’s Time Square. For five years of his life, it has been the team consisting of a yellow lab named Teeva, who has experienced Daniel’s work from every angle. Studio sessions to radio studios with famous artists, this team has been hard at work proving that sight isn’t needed for every day’s tedious demands. Stroling alongside his left, rejections shot towards them many times, but for every reason imaginable, they wake up with the approach of a winner.Daniel’s known for always saying “You have to be great. When you’re great at something, more things come.
I don’t ever want to be jus good, okay or “wowing,” if it isn’t great it won’t last, if it doesn’t last or make an impression then be great at something else!” Next steps of Daniel’s career involve news and politics outlets such as a nonpartisan news network he is working for as an ambassador and on-air content creator, launching of a brand new news website with independent journaliss – Web Daily Media, hosting the Look At These Guys Podcast ( https://soundcloud.com/latgpod), music production, song-writing, voice over work, and manager of Breakbound media – a non-profit multimedia company promoting disability activism through various engaging media outlets. Daniel also serves as a member of the board of directors for Ability Beyond Sight. Understanding the barriers unfortunately placed on the blind, Daniel wants to declare to the world that individuals with vision difficulties can be treated as your everyday counterparts. It is time to change the stigma and this is all Daniel knows!
